John

My take is that this is nothing but a short term blip to the downside. If it drops significantly, I will be buying. The real story will be released on the 18th of this month. If we get the report that I am expecting as well as the guidance I am expecting, then this option thing will be pushed way back on the burner and might even be forgotten by the market. If the report isn't what investors are expecting, then the s**t will really hit the fan. JMO though. I will check in on the 19th and see where things are.

Neal

(mildly off topic)

Although I think this options backdating stuff is a bit of a witchhunt, I think we are in a climate now with some of these CEOs and boards (Dunn at HP, options backdating, other financial scandals) where people are just SICK OF THIS.

These executives make more as a % of the average workers wages than ever in the USA. The reason people like Dunn, Jobs etc make "the big bucks" and I DO MEAN THE BIG BUCKS is that they are responsible. There is less of a willingness to look the other way these days.

I am very glad this Apple options mess is 2002 and before, and I am glad Anderson resigned although I think that was just figurative. I want these execs to start accepting responsibility for this BS as quickly as they are willing to accept their colossal pay packages.

A stockholder will care, because all this will result in Apple having to restate (lowered) earnings. How does that not affect the stock?
