All I know is that two good friends in Seattle (husband and wife) both had the surgery, and both are very happy and satisfied with the results.

A local surgeon decided to get lasik. That decision ended his surgery career.

I had Lasik. I'd say overall the experience was positive. Now I'm close to 20/20 (I think I am 20/20 in one eye) while I used to have very poor vision. I did experience dry eyes for quite some time after the procedure.
