Warner hit the nail on the had...the Iraqi people just have not stepped up to the plate to take advantage of the opportunity presented by SH's removal.

DUH... I don't think anyone believes it is all roses in Iraq. I have no problem with Rice going to tell them to step up or we will step back. Unlike cut and run Murtha, there is a better way to do that. And believe it or not, there is still a majority of soldiers that believe in what they are doing.

Now....when are YOU going to step up and email your congressperson and tell them to get off their asses and do something about Darfur?

OOOOhhhh,,,,wait...your congressmen are to busy worrying about making political hay on Foley and not appointing John Bolton.

I can understand people feeling dismal over Iraq, mass killings everyday by various elements against helpless civilians. Car bombs, now possibly poisonings etc etc etc. But I think to myself, when our troops whittled down to a mere few thousand were shivering at Valley Forge with no food, few shoes, widespread sickness and facing the then mightiest army in the world, would these people crying today have the fortitude to soldier on against the British or would we be saluting the Union Jack today? War is hell, this war is particularly hell, BUT the bottom line is WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS ONE, its in the wrong place, at the wrong time to allow anarchy to exist. jdn
