All human societies have some sort of music. It would seem there has to be something in the human mind that causes us to appreciate and make music. The question then is where did the human appreciation for music come from? I would agree with Colson that there is no materialistic (i.e. scientific or evolutionary) explanation for the existence of music ... and many other things.

It isn't illegitimate for believers to attribute things for which we have no materialistic explanation to God. Nor is it right to always stick a "yet" in there when discussing such attribution. That amounts to a presumption that everything has a materialistic explanation - a belief which itself is based upon faith ... in materialism.

That was my point.
