Clinton was never offered OBL. Never happened. I have proven that a dozen times in past posts. That rumor was started by the rightwing based on one low-level Arab's claims, which were denied and proven baseless by the people who were actually in charge at the time.

The rightwing also bases this myth on an assumption that Clinton's statement that he begged Saudi Arabia to take OBL from Sudan meant that Clinton was somehow able to arrest him, even though we didn't even have evidence yet that OBL was behind the emnbassy bombings.

The rightwing made up this lie because they felt they needed a way to try and blame Clinton for 9-11, and promote the myth that Bush is protecting us, even though 9-11 was on Bush's watch, Bush was totally AWOL on terrorism, Bush disbanded all Cliton's counter-terror operations and Bush and Rice clearly ignored several dire warnings, including the 8-6-01 warning which we all saw testified about during the 9-11 COmmission hearings.

In fact the only presdient that ever let OBL go was Bush at Tora Bora when we clearly had him trapped, but Bush refused to send in the Army Rangers.

If Clinton was so serious about killing Osama, why did he turn down Sudan's offer to turn Osama over to the US?

So what Clinton did was let OBL go several times in Sudan, more times than Bush did in Tora Bora. Revisionist history by Clinton isn't playing in Peoria

Why do you insist on being uninformed and perpetuating a lie? Do you have no sense of morality? Your lie was debunked by the 9/11 commission. The lie was started by a rightwing news site that I bet you read every day.

Hannity repeated lie that Sudan offered bin Laden to Clinton; Lanny Davis to Hannity: "That's a lie"

On June 21, FOX News Channel co-host Sean Hannity repeated the false claim that former President Bill Clinton refused an offer from Sudan to turn over Osama bin Laden to the United States in 1996, even though the 9-11 Commission found no "reliable evidence to support" the claim that Sudan made such an offer. This false claim originated in a 2002 article by the right-wing news site NewsMax.com that distorted a 2002 statement by Clinton. Lanny J. Davis, former White House special counsel to Clinton, pointed out that Hannity was lying, but Hannity persisted.
