Jim...we can go round and round on this, but I can tell you right now that our voluntary military does NOT represent a "cross section" of American youngsters.

Quantify our military recruits by family income and education and I think you'll find that our military is VASTLY disproportionately made up of kids from low income and low education families.

That's why I say we should reinstitute the draft. You certainly wouldn't mind seeing every young person sign up and be responsible to their country..right?

In Israel, EVERYBODY serves. I think we should have the same thing here.
