The first time I was in a small plane was about twelve and it was my next door neighbor at our summer cottage. He flew every weekend in the summer to get to their cottage. It was at the end of the summer, and I was going on a commercial plane in a month. The last small plane I was on was my brother in law's and he spent over 7 years flying fighters. I have never had a frightening experience in a small plane. My children's first experience in a small plane was with the same brother in law. Their latest was on a privately owned jet with two professional pilots. They should be about as comfortable with it as I am. I don't plan to be flying soon with late in life student pilots.
