Now that I thought about it again perhaps we are both right?

Predatory lending when housing is sideways to down and the owner can't handle the debt service on toxic loans and the shrinking equity.

Socialism when homes were going up 20% a year in bubble markets and anyone who could fog a mirror got into a home they never could have bought without 'government assistance' reaping tremendous windfalls..
