You are so right. I can't recall any year quite like this one. Maybe the negatives have been as bad before and I've just forgotten, but this year certainly seems bad- on both sides.

This is my first election campaign in the US in many years; I see negative ads from both sides that turn me off from voting at all sometimes.

I was referring to Rove's public speech a while back that the way to overcome the Republican deficit on many important issues was to go negative and personalize campaigns, to take out the national element (i.e. Bush and his policies).

Now that looks like a major backfire as the stories come out about Republicans personally screwing up in major ways. Which then has a national impact on how the whole party looks.

Barring some major turn in sentiment the next three weeks, this will go down as the midterm election where the ugly stick got turned on the folks who came to power wielding it.

"No one knows the issues, but we sure do know what is bad about the other cnadidate..."

Unfortunately the politicians have become the major issues, while the business of administering, adjudicating, and managing the rules of law has become a marginal task for most of our campaigning representatives. At least that is the way it seems when I look at the news.

It gets uglier each year and someone should say, hey, I will just publicize what I have done, what I want to do and will work for you.

No wonder these S.I. boards are so polarized.. They too get uglier and uglier to a point that one does not want to express and opinion... much less have one...

Once you are labeled... forget it. Then you are relegated to a certain site. Politics for Pros for all right wingers...
Liberal biases are thought to control this site....

AND then the others are self explanatory. If only if only Americans can pull together instead of becoming more and more divisive..
