I think it was wrong for the President to have accepted the invitation. If accepting these particular types of invitations makes the former President a slut, so be it. There but for the grace of G-d go I. For anyone in this type of situation, it is incumbent on the older person in the relationship to determine the appropriateness of the encounter. So here, without reservation, Clinton failed his duty. Because this occurred between true adults, the matter becomes one for the parties and their immediate families. In my mind, only Hillary gets to decide how to punish Clinton, and Monica's parents get to decide how she will be treated at their family functions.
