Standard wait times are in the 6 or 7 hour range

We get that in my ER. But everything gets dropped for life-threatening emergencies.

Honestly I have no idea what you are talking about. I lived in Canada for many years and I my parents still live there. Being into all kinds of extreme sports, I had more than my fair share of injuries and I was often surprised by the high quality of care that I got. My parents' experience has been rather mixed but nothing that I can say does not happen elsewhere. For example my mom's pneumia was misdiagnosed as a simple "flu" and when she wanted to change family doctor a couple of them told her they did not accept new patients. On the other hand, I have one of the best medical insurances in NYC and I still had a hard time finding a family doctor that I would like...
