That is lovely and says much of what I said.

I don't recall you speaking of rapid gentrification, deinstitutionalization, and increased poverty. Don't congratulate yourself. There were three major categories in that particular article and all you did was cover a portion of one category. Then you completely ingored the detail of a global increase in homelessness with the US as the global leader in that category. Maybe you would want to compare taxes US vs. Canada and see how well your theory of taxes holds up, sic, "I think in Canada anyway that our taxes carry much of the blame for our homeless problem."

Then again what do you care, about the lower income people in society, you want consumption taxes which are regressive and place a greater tax burden on the poor, sic "and I believe that all taxes should be CONSUMPTION taxes." Message 22917343

It is much harder to find real statistics or to get an analysis of the effect of closing inexpensive housing ...

There are four references in that article [one under "Notes"], so it's not much harder for some people. Plus a couple of URLs that will likely result in more information.

It looks to me that you want to "blame taxes" to lower your taxes and raise taxes on the poor, which in turn will lead to more homelessness which will probably result in you asking for your taxes to be lowered even more and raise the taxes on the poor even higher. Also known as "conservative values".
