Upon his marriage to Arlene Perly, Bob Rae agreed to raise his children in his wife's Jewish faith, though he himself is a Christian Rae's dad was a Jewish Scottish mix... raised Anglican.. en.wikipedia.org I remembered this because he stated that he was married to a Jewish woman and his kids were Jewish... in retort to Harpers gaff (my opinion) on the anti Israeli issue.. Course now it appears Bob himself is almost as mongrelly as I am... Which reminded me of an old slightly politically incorrect joke I heard many years ago from one of my Chinese uncles that was in sales... Seems three buddies were in a Chinese restaurant and discussing how Jews had adapted all around the world... mentioning Scottish Jews, French Jews, Polish and Russian Jews, Spanish Jews... etc... They wondered if there were any Chinese Jews and decided to ask the waiter... Waiter.. we were discussing world Jewry and wondering if you knew if you had any Chinese Jews ... The waiter thought for a second, went back to the kitchen and reappeared momentarily at the diners' table and replied... No sorry... we only got orange jews, tomato jews, apple jews... but no Chinese jews... Groan...

Touchy touchy. No one said their votes don't count. There votes should count - one each. No special considerations or special interest lobbying should be done or allowed. "And there have been Jewish Families in Canada since the English first got of the boats." My case exactly, shouldn't they consider themselves Canadian families by now. Just how damn long does it take? Same goes for the Moslems and any other group of "special" Canadians. I came to Canada in the 70's and consider myself a Canadian family member not a Welsh family member. I love my country of birth, but I am not about to seek special consideration for those of my heritage.
