Hi Spekulatius - What's your take so far of the earnings report for both the large money center banks and the regionals? It appears to be a mixed bag and those that meet or exceed have done this through higher fee income. The yield curve is still flat to inverted and this probably will not help these earnings going forward.

WM (Washington Mutual) disappointed and basically said it was due to lower mortgage income.

I am coming to the conclusion that the marginal banks will die a slow death. Many of these regional "value" banks may become (or are currently) a value trap, especially as long as the yield curve stays inverted.
