Maine's service stations are predominantly owned by and operated by Maine citizens

I will still boycott Citgo.

The boycott successfully reduces Citgo's profits and that means Chavez has fewer dollars to use against the USA.

Citgo is being forced to spend advertising dollars to counteract Chavez's anti-American talk effect on Citgo's sales. That advertising reduces Citgo's net profit and leaves more of Citgo's dollars in the USA in the form of advertising revenue.

In addition, they may be forced to lower their pricing to gas stations to make up for the reduced demand of Citgo products. That also reduces the dollars for Chavez to use against us.

It may hurt some American retailers but I have more important priorities. The USA is more important. And I can not stomach the thought of some of my dollars going to Chavez to use against my country.
