Amidst all the fearmongering, it helps to put things in perspective.

North Korea spend 5.5 billion a year on defense, 25th among the world's nations.

The US, #1 in the world's arms race by a dozen laps or so, spends nearly twice that amount just in Iraq every month, month after month, year after year.
