Do you have any thoughts on the relationships involving carriers moving in 2006/early 2007 to HSDPA (high-end), the numbers to date for W-CDMA

The GSA reports that there were 123 commercial WCDMA networks at the beginning of June.

The GSA estimates that there will be 85 HSDPA network launched by year-end. Unfortunately, I dont think you have to have much coverage to get on either of these lists, but they are about as comprehensive as you are likely to find.

what TI has produced or expects to produce for HSDPA and WCDMA?

The first HSDPA enabled Nokia handset is expected in the 1st quarter of '07 (N95). A report out of Taiwan indicated a similar timeframe for EMP based handsets from OEM manufacturers. Sony Ericsson has yet to announce a HSDPA enabled handset of their own.

TI looks like they are a bit behind in this market, but unless they miss the Christmas '07 selling season I doubt it will make much difference in share. HSDPA is still only going to make up a small percentage of total WCDMA handsets in the 1st half of next year. The early network launches are nice, but until I hear of compelling HSDPA enabled services, I think price/features will be driving handset sales more than speed. Cingular has been more out front on HSDPA than any other operator and even they have had to compromise and launch non-HSDPA enabled handsets.
