the Democrats create long lived "social programs" with lots of federal jobs. I keep hearing this but can you give me an example from the past 15 years where this has happened? Republicans have created nothing but huge beaurocracies that I can see. Homeland security and that horrible medicare drug program are two. IMO there is no value add from this massive homeland security pork fest. Sure a lot of people are employed in it, but is it effective? Nope. Democrats SHRUNK the size of Fema when clinton was president. I think these old definitions of republicans vs democrats are obsolete. There is some guy on the Bush threads who blames LBJ for the deficit! Its downright amazing. The man is in a state of denial totally.
