Yes indeed, conservatives are far more open than liberals, in my opinion.

Criticizing a president in wartime has always been debated during every war. The question is where to draw the line between legitimate criticism and providing the enemy with propaganda which can be used against our troops in the field. Conservatives tend to err on the side of troop safety while liberals check to see which party the president belongs to before deciding whether to put troops at risk.

<< "By the way, I notice the "Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry" thread has 75 subjectmarks and only one ban.

I'd say there are closed-minded people on both ends of the political spectrum."

I could not disagree more. Bill's POV on this matter is spot on. See this first:

Sure you can find the occasional leftist thread that has heard about conservatives documenting how lopsided leftist bans & ignores are. So some of them removed long held bans to tidy up appearances. That changes nothing. The alleged Moderate thread, Let's Talk About Our Feelings!!! & the Don't blame Me thread are 3 good examples where I am sure that happened.

Smart move by Soupy on the "Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry" thread. Early on he had upwards of 40 bans - all conservatives - most of whom never violated thread guidelines. He kept them all banned for months before he unbanned them. That's because we called on it right here on this thread.

I was one of those he banned. We know what's in store for us if we return.

The same can be said of the alleged Moderate thread. Their idea of a "moderate" POV was anything to the left of Howard Dean. Any dissenting POV's got banned. I was once banned there for many months, yet I never violated thread guidelines.

And I'm still banned at the Let's Talk About Our Feelings!!! thread where I only posted a couple of times regarding an abuse of thread guidelines (also a violation of SI's TOU).

I can cite example after example of leftist threads that are closed-minded, groupthink cults. They either ban you, put you on ignore or shout you down, replete with the most vicious personal attacks. I doubt you could find more than a couple of conservative threads that remotely come close to that description.
