Peak oil is about how much oil is in the earth and how we can (or can't) get at it

No, its not. Technology, efficiency and substitution are critical factors as well.

If your theory doesn't address those factors , its just not much of a predictive theory.

And thats why the Hubbert curve of Peak oil hasn't ever been correct...and why all of its predictions have been wrong.

And its also why the curve keeps getting pushed out.

Everything has a curve...there is nothing special or meaningful or predictive about the so called Peak Oil Curve.

Unless you want to use it for fear mongering.
