Hubberts prediction of U.S. Oil production in 2003 was "OFF" by a factor of 2.

Hubbert predicted .82 billion barrels produced in 2003

Actual U.S. production was 1.74 billion barrels produced.

Hubbert claimed:
170 billion barrels ultimate resource in the U.S.

The latest USGS estimate is 330 billion barrels as the ultimate resource in the U.S.

See the pattern with Hubbert here? The only reason I see for the fascination with Hubbert is for manipulation and fear. There is nothing about the theory that suggests we are running out of oil or energy any time soon. It couldn't possibly predict such things...because it doesn't even take all the factors into account.
