We were supposed to get this "Peace Dividend", because we didn't HAVE to spend so much on our military! Yet, here we are, with our stated enemies as the "Axis of Evil", who, all put together barely spend a 20th of what we spend on defense. We spend more than any other country on earth, because the military-industrial-government complex MAKES us, and drives us with fear, but not because we NEED to.
