Can you hazard a guess, using your rose colored glasses, what will supplant oil.

History tells us that price, supply, demand, technology, and innovation will supplant it. And it will probably be a very smooth process that people like you do not even see.

Kind of like what has already happened...but you do not make note of, or even know of it.

In 2004, the US used ~1/2 the energy (and oil) per
dollar of GDP (inflation adjusted) than in 1975.
