A better way might be to tax ALL vehicles that get less that a certain mileage

My suggestion was to tax ugly vehicles.

My comment was more that people who drive Hummers anywhere but on a battle field look like complete idiots, and hence deserve to be ridiculed mercilessly.

Of course, they are also selfish individualists with a demonstrated inability to value the common good -- for better AND for worse -- but that's another issue.
