And in a way, Kerry is right as well. Those who are recruited into the armed forces these days are largely school dropouts, gangsters and assorted thugs. You don't see the nicely groomed, suit-wearing College Republican Keyboarders from wealthy backgrounds joining the fight, do you?

So even if Kerry was interpreted in that way, he still was correct. Maybe it is not politically expedient for him to say it, but he is correct in that sense as well.

But if he didn't want to say it, he should have simply said "Dumbyass [George W Bush] is an idiot and that is why he has now got stuck in Iraq". End of story!
