Also bought some more PWE, Kurt Wulff recommend Canadian trust.

I was hoping to see a big drop in SJT, a US trust, but no such luck !

URRE and URZ, US listed Uraniums both up.

Silver up, looks like a nice day...

Remember your comment about Democrats finding a new way to lose ? See John Kerry's "joke". I saw it on TV, it might have been intended as a joke. Kerry = Stupid schmuck.

Hmm, do two swallows make a summer: You moaning about attack in Canada, me moaning about attack in Euroserfland. <I simply put this episode down to government greed and stupidity, and marking the copy book that more of such tax grabs will be likely as each society gets hit by increased need to rob the blind, steal from the sick, and hit out at the weak.

I suspect the royalty trust will partially recover from this episode of sudden but localized and selective re-pricing, but am not prepared to double up on them, as the officialdom clearly are scum.

Maybe TeoTwawki is under way. They don't ring a bell when it starts. Even the Germans voted for Adolf in increasing proportions and he didn't seem all that threatening initially, but the die was cast.

I have for years raved that the evil-doers would attack QCOM for being a "monopoly". The QCOM denizens pooh-poohed my concerns, saying it couldn't happen. I explained that evil-doing politicians and lawyers and anti-trust bandits can create a "monopoly" anywhere they like by the simple expedient of defining "the market" tightly enough.

When they spot a big pile of money, held by somebody they don't have in their team, they go to work.

The only evil monopoly is government monopoly and it's also the only actual monopoly. One does not have a choice of government. One is ruled by the dictator of the mob. A mob is a hideous thing and a dictator is frighteningly cruel. The frying pan or the fire. The Devil or the deep blue sea.

Hmmm, maybe a switch to go-d would be a good tactical move, and time travel for a while. Which I did yesterday after 6 months off golf - it felt strange to revisit old haunts, find all had changed, people gone, systems revamped, new buildings enroute.

about 22% of our portfolio is allocated
to income trusts, so luckily, we're
only down about 3% over all. BUT, this was
not supposed to happen.

only last winter, in their campaign platform,
the tories promised to preserve the trust
market and not impose any new taxes .... and
there are many like us who invest relatively
meager sums in a conservative manner to earn
a relatively meager monthly retirement income
and then some political ass in ottawa makes
a stupid political decision because they can't
stand the thought of losing half a billon in
tax money when all the while they've got tons
more than that sitting in their coffers.

and to make it worse, the ndp and block are
seemingly going along with it!!!?!

i feel as though i've been sucker punched and
i am sooooo pissed.
