And the reaaaalllllllllly stupid thing about this whole fiasco is the recent headlines that no one can explain why the federal government tax take is billions and billions more than projected so far this year.

And this 'initiative' is supposedly all about the leakage of a billion tax dollars, when if you look at it thoroughly trusts are pretty close to tax neutral.

This is my response.
And it has gone out to many trust funds this morning as well as it is going forward to the Auditor General.

"I think an investigation must be put forth to have the portfolios of those and of the friends and family that surrounds those responsible for this trust decision become public and scrutinized. "

I'm not clear on the impact to those holding in RRSPs (such as myself). If the tax is paid by the individual and the account is tax exempt, does that mean there is no impact on distributions? I'm pretty sure I'm not having any tax withheld on dividends right now.
