Biggest cause of Sat Failure is Fuel (running out). The rest of what you said is also true. But it's fuel first

Hot diggety dog! Now why didn't Bernie do that back in 1999, but make the minutes free until the constellation was full, getting profits from handset sales for the first year or two?

The only thing Bernie was interested in doing was enriching Globalstar's corporate sponsors (namely Loral).

The old man looted away most of Globalstar last remaining cash on hand to pay for unbuilt, unlaunchable spare satellites that Loral in turn refused to deliver and or provide title to, without broad releases of personal indemnification for the whole pack of Weazelâ„¢ management in Bankruptcy.

And so it goes,
PCSTEL

Double wrong: <With 8 satellites due to launch in April, that should rescue the old constellation sufficiently to struggle through to the second constellation launch.

Due to many failed satellites in the first constellation, there are holes, which means sporadic coverage and more dropped calls. The design life of the first constellation was 7 years, but most of them are going to battle through to 10 years.

8 satellites were NOT launched in April. 4 of them are still waiting to be launched at the end of October.

Most of the satellites will NOT make it through to 10 years. Now, Constellation 2 is NOT going to be early 2009 and might not even be late 2009 on latest timing. At best only half will be ready late 2009 for launch.
