This was back in 19 and 71, there was a VA guy (head of the office) that handled areas, I think mine did 3 counties. He did the college and medical stuff for returning GIs. Also helped you get a GI loan for a house. He got a check that covered everything and then sent out the individual checks. <<But, you got scammed.>> He scammed the taxpayers and all the GIs in his area. <<You might want to check with the VA office in your region to see exactly what your status is.>> Status is I'm retired and don't want to go to school. Funny thing is I was burned by scalding water while on active duty and could have gotten a 10% disability I didn't apply as it healed up ok. At least he didn't get to steal that money.
