There is a new condo complex with 14 units that was completed 6/05 a block from the beach near me in Florida. All the units closed in the $350k range that were bought preconstruction a couple of years earlier. Not one has been resold since then. Only 3 have anyone living in the unit and most of the other 11 are for sale in the $500-550k range. Recent neighborhood comps show a 20%+ drop in prices from a year ago so when you add in holding costs for two year even these folks who bought prebubble are also underwater (they just don't know it yet<g>)

I have not been keeping up with this tread, but that post you are responding to back in August is a real doozy. I see you drunk the KoolAid like I did way back when.

I am going to say this and I want to you to show it to your wife. She has got to be one of the nicest people and you are really lucky to have somebody as nice as her to stick with you.

Anybody that would put up with living in a little condo when they could of had a nice house all that time, well, isn't it time for a change? If your condo has gone back down in price to what it was back in 2000, what about that house she sold? Is it not also gone back down to what she sold it for? That way you can buy it back and only have missed out on five years, instead of just a waiting. Have you not heard : "Time waits for no one."

Now about them young-uns what has not been born yet. I bet if you and the missus had a big Texas Size Ranch then them kids would just be begging there parents in a few years to spend the summers down on the Ranch with the ponies, etc. etc. Your wife could watch them while their parents were vacationing down in FL. And you could get one of them big-screen TVs to watch TO on too. I think you could get the whole package for less than what that lil condo is going for now. but if you keep waiting, it is not necessarily going get any better up there.
