If you check the latest figures in Montana, you will notice that the Democrat has doubled his lead in the last hour or so. That contest is over. In Virginia, Senator Allen is behind by nearly 7,000 votes with .2% of the precincts remaining. Even with a recount after the remaining precincts report, any change in the result is a huge longshot

Senator Lieberman is the Ranking Member on that Committee and he works well with Senator Collins, its current Chair. Democrat leaders have promised that he will maintain his committee assignments and seniority. However, Democrat promises are not important. Today, Senator Lieberman is the most powerful Democrat in the Senate. After being insulted by his party, he has continually promised to sit with them in the Senate. He is a class act and a good Democrat.
