I am worked up about the war on terror causing us to drop our own traditions in order to make silly preparations, just in case some ratty idiot attacks the coast of America on the Great lakes. I am worried about arming the coast guard on the great lakes, only the US Coast Guard needs 50 cal machine guns and the change that makes in the consciousness of both countries. And quite frankly I am worried about the first time some Canadian kid tries to outrun the American Coast Guard and gets killed. That will shift relationships between the two countries forever, in a way Americans should think very carefully about.
