I didn't say anything about arrogance, GZ. I just thought the tone today was more cranky...lots of short back and forth, gotcha stuff....some of the republicans seem ready to rip into Pelosi and the poor woman hasn't had a chance yet to prove she really is the devil in disguise. Some others pounding away on the President or Rumsfeld. Nobody's going to push for impeachment, in my view. It would be political suicide, but even Howard Dean has disavowed any interest in that direction - and he is crazy.

I think we all are adjusting to dealing with a new power order, and it can be tough....I doubt if Prolife will ever adjust to it.

That old line that was tossed around so much back in 2000 and 2004.."get over it" comes to mind when the sour grapes stuff comes up. The election wasn't close enough for anyone to feel robbed and not enough of a route to claim any sort of mandate. Seems discovering middle ground is the message.

Bush isn't the devil. I doubt Pelosi is either. The public wants change at some level...and the middle 20% of the electorate, the independents, have figured out that they do control things. That is a fact either side will ignore at their peril.

So the lesson now is who can look like they are trying to be more conciliatory to the other. Should be fun to watch.
