I think one of the President's failures was not to communicate clearly what is at stake. The biased media has not worked in our nations best interests.

My point being that the opposing party and the media have been very critical of Bush, while offering no solution and no valuable insight to what is at stake wrt oil. The Administration made many errors in Iraq no doubt. But all the finger pointing and blaming of Bush will wear thin as time goes by.

Presently our economy is stuttering because of what I believe has been a historic transfer of money to OPEC nations.

Your responses to my questions regarding oil prove my point. Most of the people talking about getting out of Iraq have no clue just how important it is. When I see a news article about some event I think first about its impact to energy. So perhaps I take for granted that others understand.

The Democrats may be dreaming of beating up Walmart and China but what happens in the Persian Gulf will be dominate our politicians time.

Personnally I am discouraged by the Iraqi population and Islam as a whole. At one time I believed the words written in the Declaration of Independence applied to all of humanity. I believe these basic human rights are gained through evolution and development. We cant foster that process in an Arab environment.

The Europeans were more realistic. Lets make money from Iran and Saddam. Why should we question taking money from Saddam while thousands suffer?

In retrospect we should have made a deal with Saddam, keep power however you want. Just stay in your own country and keep off the Kurds.

But we have already learned that active or passive support of tyrants has a high price. So I have no solution other than a bargain with the Chinese. Put 500,000 troops on the ground in Iraq and you can develop all the oil you want.

Really was keeping Saddam in power an answer? Regardless I dont know how we get out of this mess without much more blood letting.
