Ghery obviously had a close look at Utzon and his opera house.

I don't know. What Gehry did wasn't possible when Utzon's building was built.......wasn't it built about 50 years ago. They didn't have the right building materials. The skin on Gehry's building is stretched very thin. If you get up close to the Utzon building......the skin is very segmented. With Gehry's bldg. the dividing lines are much less visible. Frankly, I like the Utzon bldg. better from a distance and the Gehry bldg. up close.
