Religion has caused more wars than anything. What it does is DIVIDE people.

Have you heard the latest spiel by Elton John.. All religions divide people and he is against religion. Wish he would write a song about the meaning of what religions do. Last night heard a great rave by a Jewish Rabbi on radio talk show.. He said that Islam has been perverted so badly. That one time it was the most intelligent of religions and if it were not for it's propagating information on some of the truly great minds such as Aristotle etc. we would never have heard about them as Christianity had ignored intelligent information... Now I wish that I had taken more religion courses. It is interesting when it follows history and intertwines historical events with the influence of the various religions. In Turkey I started to learn about the Whirling Dervishes which as a group within Islam that did whirling dances with one another. Also about some of the poetry written by some Islamic scholars. All quite beautiful. At that time I was developing quite an appreciation for all things Islamic. It's too bad that these new leaders have taken the religion that tolerated Jews for centuries into this Jihad where it is known now for Terror and little else is recognized.
