Excellent points. Be careful, those, as there are some who will label you a 'terrorist supporter'. ;) Few Americans seem to remember (or were not taught) about the early history of Islam and its role not only in religious tolerance but as a haven for those persecuted by Christians. During much of the middle ages, the only penalty (or incentive to convert, depending on your viewpoint) for living in Muslim lands as a non-Muslim was an extra tax. In many parts of Christian Europe, the penalty for nonconformity was a bit more severe, to say the least....
