"Even if all three of us who discussed the idea here jumped on the bandwagon, it wouldn't go very far.

It may be a lot of work or maybe not. It doesn't take many thoughtful persons of conscience to hammer out a workable solution. Look at the number of people who worked on the original draft of the constitution for example. This is a very small potatoe and you are a good political author. What can you offer to add to the founding principles statements I have contributed. Jim S. is looking for application details.

So we need categorical definitions of what would constitute a breech.

We also need to talk about teeth. If we had an anti-corruption amendment added to the constitution and established the DOJ as an independant body of government (an additional dimension of check and balance), we could establish non-partisan oversite. But it would require a change in the DOJ structure.

Change this part:

"The Attorney General represents the United States in legal matters generally and gives advice and opinions to the President and to the heads of the executive departments of the Government when so requested."

to be

"The Attorney General represents the United States in legal matters generally and monitors the public trust afforded to representatives of the federal government, to guard against and take corrective action with regards to corruption in official conduct."
