I hasten to say that I don't know whether Nancy's vineyard (apparently sold in 2003) actually utilized the services of
illegal immigrants or failed to maintain a proper payroll.

It's just a suspicion on my part and a legitimate question. I remember all of that Nannygate intrigue going on back in the '90's. Those episodes pale beside the idea of regularly employing workers in the field without complying with the legal requirements.

The sad reality seems to be that very wealthy people have a tendency to cut corners, regardless of their political persuasion. We see this in campaign finance violations, lobbyist scandals, etc., etc.
In Pelosi's case, there seem to have been some corners cut in connection with that Lion's Gate resort.

I only raise these issues because, with the changeover of Congressional control, there seems to be a tsunami of proposed investigations brewing . The irony in all this includes Pelosi's dogged support for Murtha. All of these politicians need to check their own closets for skeletons before they get too swept up in the collective thirst for vengeance which is currently being thinly masked as an olive branch for cooperation.<g>
