A lot of people could bicycle to work, and it would do their fat asses a lot of good to do so. If you're within ten miles of where you work, that's an easy bike ride..

Will you stop complaining once America only represents 15% of the world's oil consumption? How about 10%?

Nope...can't grow complacent.

What are YOU personally going to sacrifice to make that happen?

The house is colder in winter, warmer in summer, my electric bills are down about 40%, incandescent lights are gone, i didn't change my car, but my MPG is up 15% just by driving less aggressively, and some more such other things. I am considering a $20K investment in a photovoltaic system for the house...not moving closer to work, may build a greener house when i retire. That's it more or less...

Hence my comment about "giving up your home and your car and moving closer to work."

Bombast...

Al

re: Speaking of complaining, it will take a lot to reduce our share of the world's oil consumption from 1/4 to 1/5.

BS. "A lot" of what? We have the resources to sent 140K folks to Iraq for 3+ years, certainly we have the resources to use current, in fact very old, technology to reduce gas consumption.

re: Yet guys like yourself will still complain that America is consuming more than its "fair share" of oil.

It's got nothing to do with "fair share"; it's got to do with economic and political security. Wake up.

Give me a break. Only people that piss into the wind don't get this.
