Last spring I nearly went out and got another dog. I haven't had one for over 20 years, but thought it might be nice to have a pal. About that time, my brother and SIL needed to go out of town to see her ill father. What to do with their dog? They won't leave her in a kennel. Their daughter finally "got stuck" with the dog. They cut their trip short just to get back and take the dog off daughter's hands.

That's when I came to my senses. No pets! Freedom! Besides, when I had to put my last dog down a little of me died that day, as well.

Everyone says that, but this time I mean it. I love my Arthur more than any dog I've had, but he is expensive, and I travel so much, he spends many nights at the vets...(kennel)

Losing a dog is like losing a best friend...so sad.
