They use the horses for those who served. It's somber. The boots are backward in the stirrups. We've a lot of relatives up there. They don't do it for wives etc... just those who served and every now and then someone is honored there. My Mom is buried in the same space as her father and mother as she never remarried after Dad went elsewhere. The rules as to just who qualifies do change over the years because of crowding. She had a long ago letter notifying her of her eligibility which was kept with her important papers and they honored that letter. Here - you may enjoy the link.
