If you cannot beat them, join them. The wise took up the opportunity to have their children educated in white man's ways. When one knows the ways of their ancestors and the new ways, then more choices present themselves.

There is no question that abrogating lawful treaties because the parcels of land granted to the original inhabitants of this continent became valuable was wrong. Who know what would have happened to Native Americans if they had been allowed to keep lands rich with oil and other minerals? It is likely that some tribes would have followed the path of kleptocracy and others would have invested for the good of the tribe.
