When is a simple answer (in plain English), given *multiple times*, honestly, openly, with no guile intended at all... NOT 'an answer'? (I guess it's when you really, really, really, really, really don't want to SEE any answer... and are prepared to cover your eyes, block your ears, hum loudly to hide all outside noise, and pull a 'Sergeant Schultz', repeating to yourself over and over "I see NOTHING! I see NOTHING!" LOL!) Such seems to be the sad case now with GZ over at the old Bush thread.... He's banned me for allegedly 'not answering' his (largely rhetorical) question would I give up 'freedom' for safety from terrorists? that I CLEARLY ANSWERED at least three times, if not more, and answered in as plain and simple an English as I could muster each and every time. Judge for yourself, if you are interested. GZ's I can't accept clear answers any more, they are upsetting my personal equilibrium <g> banning post to me follows. (Question, presented at-large, what is really going on with GZ do you think? What could make someone dive so DEEPLY into the 'truthiness cup' that they could actually deny objective reality... and pretend to themselves that open and simple answers were never given, when it is obvious to all that they were? Doesn't the Sun appear to rise in the East anymore? Isn't air still used to fill up basketballs, and isn't it gravity that holds our feet down on the surface? What makes plain and simple answers *invisible* to a moderator?) The banning post: ============== Playing slippery word games with me never works, you simply could have answered the question on any of the numerous times I posed the question in an attempt to move this dialogue forward, my question doesn't require negotiations, I asked you a direct question, a direct answer was all that was needed... but you continue to play games and waste my time, well time's up, game over, get lost... Oh, and have a nice day...<g> GZ Message 23048446 ============== My reply to GZ (had to be posted private, as he's made it a wee bit difficult to post an open reply on his thread. Here my reply is re-posted openly): ========================================= Re: "you simply could have answered the question on any of the numerous times I posed the question...." I *did*. Answered SEVERAL TIMES... and in plain and simple English.:Message 23043489 Message 23045177 So... I'm very confused.... What is wrong GZ? It's like you are trying to speak in a foreign language, and you won't take 'yes' for an answer. (It appears that YOU are 'playing' the 'word games'... while all I'm doing is using plain and simple English.) ====================================== Funny thing is, GZ had ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGED that I'd sufficiently answered his question, when he posted this to me:...How come you couldn't give this response many posts earlier? siliconinvestor.com The above was in reply to my preceding post wherein I'd DIRECTLY ANSWERED his rhetorical question --- seemingly to his satisfaction and understanding as he indicated --- when I replied with the answer below: "Do you have any freedoms?" Yes. Many. "If so, which ones would you be willing to give up?" None, unless I could gain more then I would be losing.Message 23043451 If there is anything 'unclear' about my answer above... or if it's too complicated for anyone to understand, I sure fail to SEE IT. :-) So... the floor is thrown open for suggestions. What has caused the apparent 'psychotic break from reality' over there on the ole 'Dubbya' thread? Delayed stress reaction from the recent election? Personal crisis? An overt decision to ride with his Lame Duck into the sunset with a thread of posters that can be counted on two hands... humming the game show theme of Jeopardy loudly to block-out all unwanted intrusions from the real world? Embarrassment from having a silly rhetorical question shot down in public? Decision to illustrate the principle that 'power corrupts'? Pervasive feeling of inadequacy with intellectual matters? Pervasive comfort with lying? Bunions hurting? Ergot in his morning bran muffin? A slip of the tongue that accidentally exposed GZ's membership in the Flat Earth Society? (Really guys --- I'm out to sea here on what the problem is. I have no experience dealing with the Twilight Zone so, when plain and simple reality is flat denied by someone... I'm left clueless. If anyone has any insight into his apparent break with reality and can drop me a line explaining, I'd appreciate it.) Meanwhile, on with the show.
