Why is this, unclewest....? Isn't it the duty of the Generals starting at the base level Star, to talk to their next superior officer, and so on up....or is it the duty of the SoD to talk to each and every General in the Army?

Who can the Secretaries of various Cabinet level jobs trust?

And is there a way that someday, we will know what things could have been done to improve the communication and effectiveness of the Officers, no matter what level they are?

Perhaps the biggest mistake that continues to be made is not relying on input from our unconventional warfare (UW) expert leaders in the decision making process.

Anybody above the rank of Colonel is a politician. A 25 year career Sergeant told me that. :)

AP says we have been involved in Iraq one day longer than in WWII. They do NOT say the death toll for WWII (see below) and "somehow" miss comparing the death toll of our Military in Iraq to that of WWII. (less than 3,000 to date –too many but still multiples more were killed in the same time frame that AP uses…._

"In the casualty count, the Civil War was the most lethal, with military deaths of the North and South combined totaling at least 620,000. By comparison, the total for World War II was roughly 406,000;
Vietnam, 58,000;
Korea, 37,000;
World War I, 116,000."
