One thing very startling is the death toll from the Civil War. To resolve the issues not resolved with the birth of the nation.

Estimate 35,000,000 total and 600,000 dead means 1 in 52~

WWII 140,000,000 total and 400,000 1 in 350.

So you look at a Mideast with hundreds of millions of people with no less a divisive issue than the ones that led to our Civil War, add WMD.

Which is comparing apples and oranges. WWII was a conventional war. Iraq's conventional warfare stage lasted 3 weeks. Insurgencies aren't beaten in three years.

I think we should count every American killed by a Muslim terrorist in the past 25 years in our total. Then list the wounded Americans too.
