"I'm more concerned about the amount of people that have to die proving the point."

Ah!

So you probably don't actually agree with JL's statement that 'Italy, Germany and France' are 'lost' (to tha' Theocracy-lovin' Islamic hordes, I guess....)

Well... that's good to hear. (The reality distortion field hasn't totally enveloped you yet. :-)

Now, as to 'people dying'... I would never bet against that.

Too much history arguing for the 'more deaths' point-of-view.

Just look back to the 20th. Century --- bloodiest in the entire history of the world in raw numbers... yet, I'm fairly sure that (on an 'adjusted for the level of population' basis) there have been *plenty* of other Centuries with more horrific death tolls... and the greatest unifying characteristic for most of that mayhem and slaughter was religious strife (with greed coming in as a strong second in the rankings, no doubt).

So... color me 'not surprised'.

(Even so, though... if forced to choose, I'd probably wager that before the 21st. Century was over, the GREATEST SINGLE CONTRIBUTING FACTOR to the large numbers of violent deaths that will, no doubt, occur... will prove to be competition over *resources*, and 'religious strife' will place a poor second.)
