Hi Ed,
You should take a look at Friedman's op ed in the NYT today. Regardless of where we started at the beginning in the viewing of this war, most of us when faced with a choice between a 10 month exit or a 10 year committment to nation building in an area, particularly unsuited for what we are pushing, it becomes a no-brainer. I still think that if the war was fought right, the result didnt have to be what amounts to anarchy much more than civil war but thats water under the bridge. Rummys war and even much worse the silence of our vaunted military leaders who continued to spout the company line for fear of being fired long after the most simple of americans (like me) figured out the lie, serves as a stain on the military much like the bull shit that went on in vietnam. When bush made his idiotic comment in Hanoi, I decided that impeachment should be taken off the table and committment to a mental institution is called for. Mike
