Hi Mike. It's good to have you firmly back in the land of pragmatism. And of course if we're going to lose sometime, and we are, sooner is better than later, especially for the soldiers who risk death while we extricate ourselves.

As for the outcome not being inevitable, I still believe that when we unleashed the water behind the dam that Saddam Hussein was supporting we had no control over where the water would flow.

Of course we didn't help by unleashing the water all at once when without us it would have happened much more slowly. Ed

Nope. Friedman, that putz, doesn't get a pass for his inane pushing of this war.

This is the RESPONSIBILITY MOMENT not a time to blame the 'execution' of a stupid, greedy, lying, incompetent plan as the root cause of the US' problems in Iraq and in the region.

It's the disgusting rightwing mentality, the imperialism, the misuse and abuse of others, the greed, the laziness, the inability to do a single decent thing in life that is the root cause of Iraq. Friedman is a liar, a putz, a schlub, a miscreant and now a coward.

He doesn't get to say OOPS, and neither does anyone else, and then blame the Iraqis, the military or anyone else.

Everyone who supported the war had as much information as I did, which was dang little. If I could see that this was a war based on a pack of lies then there's no excuse for everyone else not coming to this conclusion YEARS AGO.

Those who supported this war for profiteering get to take permanent responsibility for this fiasco. It's TOO LATE to say, oops now.
