To be fair, what the linked post was really saying was that a stance against the draft or enforced service might have to be adjusted if warranted by conditions. My response to that is "duh." I'd hardly call it a "reality check" since the hypotheticals raised hadn't occurred.

There are few absolutes in this world and we need to be
able to play the hands actually dealt. That's reality, imo.
